Scott Distasio speaks about Florida's worker's compensation laws and what types of injuries you can and cannot be compensated for.
On the Job Injuries Information
Workers compensation laws in the state of Florida prevent most personal injury lawsuits against employers. But that does not mean you are not entitled to personal injury compensation. When the injuries are the result of defective products or the wrongdoing of employees from companies other than your employer, you may be entitled to compensation.
For example one client of mine was delivering products to the jobsites of companies other than his employer. He received compensation because we were able to prove that the object that fell on him was the result of the employees of the other employer.
The same thing is often true with construction site injuries. A manhole is left uncovered, scaffolding is negligently constructed, cranes, or other devices are negligently operated.
At Distasio law firm we have experience in sifting through jobsite injury cases to identify personal injury claims.
